NSBE Portland Professionals Scholarship
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Portland Professionals is excited to offer our third scholarship cycle. We will award three (3) academic scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to eligible high school graduates and college students. Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
Applicant should have an interest or currently majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematical degree.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 15, 2024
The Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Piedmont Rose Connection Inc. offers scholarships to deserving African-American female and male high school seniors from Oregon and southwest Washington. Applicants must plan to pursue higher education at a four-year institution leading to a degree in a profession or applied science.

Dr. George Washington Carver Academic Excellence Scholarship
In 2023, the Omicron Theta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. will continue supporting the academic efforts of our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) youth by awarding $500 scholarships to male-identifying high school seniors in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area.

Oregon Dove Scholarship
A female high school senior, in Washington County, Clackamas County, or Clark County areas planning to enter a 4-year college or university in the Fall following graduation, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher or a GED score of 525.
Rose City Scholarship
A female high school senior, in the Portland Metro Area (Multnomah County) planning to enter a 4-year college or university in the Fall following graduation, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher or a GED score of 525.
United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
UNCF has helped more than 500,000 students earn their college degrees since its founding.
UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. Each year, we award more than $100 million in scholarships to students attending more than 1,100 schools across the country, including our prestigious network of 37 HBCUs.
We also manage a variety of scholarship programs, such as the Fund II Foundation UNCF STEM Scholars Program, UNCF/Koch Scholars Program, K-12 Education Fellowship and the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship Program.
Black United Fund of Oregon (BUFOR)
BUF Scholarships are awarded by a committee of community members that were hand selected by BUF staff. Qualifications and award amounts for each scholarship can be found by clicking on the specified link below:

The goal of this program is to help Black students across Oregon accept higher education opportunities to pursue their goals.
Building Blocks 2 Success Alumni Scholarship
In honor of Building Blocks 2 Success co-founder Dr. Ernest Hartzog, an emeritus board
member, Building Blocks 2 Success is announcing the availability of $500 scholarships to 2023 graduated High School Seniors. Eligibility:
Former participant in one of BB2S’ programs or affiliated programs
Enrollment in a community college, technically focused college, or a four-year college.
In pursuit of a STEM education is preferred, but not required.
OnPoint Community Credit Union Scholarship
OnPoint Community Credit Union sponsors the Scholar Program, recognizing Scholar Athletes and Activity Scholars who are graduating seniors at OSAA member schools.
The Scholar Program recognizes graduating seniors who have achieved a 3.50 or higher unweighted cumulative GPA and earned a varsity letter in an OSAA-sanctioned sport or competed in an OSAA-sanctioned activity. Each qualifying, graduating senior receives a certificate of achievement from the OSAA and OnPoint Community Credit Union.
All graduating seniors in the Scholar Program are eligible to apply for one of six college scholarships - two winners will receive a $5,000 scholarship and four winners will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Winners will be selected based on success in the classroom, leadership in the community, how participating in OSAA activities has either taught them a lesson or helped them achieve their goals and two letters of recommendation.
The Milton Fisher Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship open to exceptionally Innovative and Creative high school juniors and seniors, and first-time college freshmen.
Award: $4,000 - $20,000 Apply for this scholarship if you are . . .
a student who has solved an artistic, scientific, or technical problem in a new or unusual way, or
a student who has come up with a distinctive solution to problems faced by your school, community or family.
The Skanner Foundation Scholarship
The Skanner Foundation Scholarship Program is available to undergraduate students who maintain full time status at an accredited, post secondary institution beginning in the fall of the year. Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements and deadlines to qualify. Scholarship awards should be applied toward tuition, room, board and, books and range from $1,000 to $3,000. Checks will be made payable to the institution. Individuals applying for a scholarship must forward one complete application packet to the address below. Current scholarship recipients must re-apply each year by June 15.
Since its inception in 2011, PROTEC17 has awarded more than 20 scholarships totalling over $60,000 towards the advanced education of our members’ children.
The program sponsors two $3,000 college scholarships each year – one for an incoming college freshman, and the other for a continuing college student. Applicants are asked to demonstrate their academic achievement, community service, extracurricular activities, and educational goals, as well as write a labor-related essay which is reviewed by outside labor educators.
Valencia Cooper 2nd Chance Opportunity Scholarship
The Valencia Cooper 2nd Chance Opportunity Scholarship Award will be solely for African American/Black students who would like to attend a Community College within the state of Oregon.
Oregon Student Aid Application
The OSAC Scholarship Application provides current and future Oregon students one easy application to apply for multiple scholarships at one time. OSAC awards more than $10 million in scholarships annually through more than 600 scholarships.
OCF manages one of the largest scholarship programs of its kind in the country, awarding thousands of scholarships each year.
Our scholarships support a wide variety of majors, interests and passions. We have scholarships for graduates of specific high schools, current college students and even graduate students. Some scholarships support nontraditional students pursuing workforce retraining or higher education.
For graduates or graduating seniors of Cottage Grove or Al Kennedy Alternative High Schools to attend an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States. The scholarship is intended for students who have shown the ability to overcome barriers, with special consideration given to those seeking to help others or better their environment.
Darlene Hooley Scholarship for Oregon Veterans
For military veterans who have served or been deployed overseas in the post-9/11 conflict, also known as the Global War on Terror, with a preference for Oregon National Guard and Oregon Reservists. The scholarship is available for students enrolling at an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States. Applications are accepted year-round.
Earl and Jane Ferguson Scholarship Fund
For graduates of Klamath County high schools, who plan to attend an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States.
James R. and Mary Jane Drury Scholarship
For graduates of McKenzie High School in Finn Rock, Oregon to attend public institutions of higher education in Oregon with programs in natural resource-related fields. Preference will be given to applicants attending the College of Forestry at Oregon State University.
Oregon College Savings Plan’s Diversity in Leadership Scholarship
For underrepresented and diverse Oregon residents pursuing their first year of enrollment at an institution of higher education in Oregon.
Pence Construction Diversity in Leadership Scholarship
For underrepresented students to major in construction engineering at an institution of postsecondary education in Oregon or aspiring to careers in that field, with preference for Multnomah County residents.
St. Andrew's Society Scholarship
Scholarship Purpose: To support Black, male graduates of Portland-area high schools who are pursuing postsecondary education.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Graduate or graduating from: A high school in the Portland Public School District, Clackamas High School, David Douglas High School, Centennial High School
Identify as Black and male
Attending any public or private (nonprofit) college or university in the United States, including community college or an accredited trade school
Enrolling at least half-time
Must demonstrate financial need (completion of FAFSA or ORSAA required)
Participation in community service or professional activities is required
AWARD
Automatically renewable for up to 6 years if renewal criteria met
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s scholarship programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. Our scholarships provide financial assistance and academic support to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. In addition to the monetary award, students join a thriving network of nearly 3,200 Cooke Scholars.
Congressional Black Caucus Foundation
For more than three decades the CBCF in partnership with CBC Spouses has awarded scholarships to talented and deserving students. Each year, we award more than 300 scholarships to students that demonstrate leadership ability through exemplary community service and academic talent. Our scholarship programs support current or upcoming college students across a variety of disciplines.
Architecture Foundation of Oregon
AFO awards and administers scholarships for college students who are studying architecture in the state of Oregon: the Hatfield Architectural Award, the William Hart Scholarship in partnership with Carleton Hart Architecture, and the Tsagaglalal (She Who Watches) Scholarship also available to art students. Thurgood Marshall College Fund & Deloitte Foundation
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and the Deloitte Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students majoring in accounting while attending a TMCF member-school or one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Seventy (70) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based renewable scholarship up to $8,000 per year ($4,000 per semester; up to $24,000 in total over three years (sophomore, junior, senior) if recipients continue to meet eligibility requirements of the scholarship as determined by TMCF).
